octopus

prisma colors and pen
i drew this from a picture of an octopus i found online. i liked the idea of keeping it really simple and connecting the octopus with the ink in a lot of ways, like the fact that octopuses produce ink and that this one is tattooed.
i thought about putting the word "inked" in sloppy fountain pen writing in the corner, but i decided against it since it would probably take away from the focal point

glasses

this one is done with oil pastels, which i've never really used before. i put down the color in small circular strokes so that everything blends together in a way that defines different colors but still gives the smooth feeling of glass. i liked the picture in the first place so this was a pretty easy piece to do.

turtle

Publish Post

This one was a last minute piece i did for the deadline. i painted the background with just different shades of watercolor, then painted the turtle and his shell in a thinker watercolor (less water, more color). the actual turtle is ink and whiteout, and it's shell is colored pencil. This whole thing was inspired by a band's album cover that was just a bunch of swirls and geometric shapes that made up a bird's nest.
